2024 Notice of Rights for App-Based Workers
The 2024 Notice of Rights for App-Based Workers that covers both the App-Based Worker Minimum Payment (ABWMP) and the App-Based Worker Paid Sick and Safe Time (ABWPSST) Ordinances is now available on the Seattle Office of Labor Standards (OLS) website at https://www.seattle.gov/laborstandards/ordinances/app-based-worker-ordinances/app-based-worker-minimum-payment-ordinance and https://www.seattle.gov/laborstandards/ordinances/app-based-worker-ordinances/app-based-worker-paid-sick-and-safe-time-ordinance
App-based network companies are required to make a notice of rights for both ordinances available to app-based workers using their platforms.
By March 13, these companies must send the notice of rights in a written format to the Office of Labor Standards. Each company must also submit the registered legal name and trade name of the company as listed on their Seattle business license tax certificate as well as a contact name and contact information for the company. Network companies can send the required information to business.laborstandards@seattle.gov.
This notice must be made available in the network company’s online application or platform in English and the language(s) spoken by the worker.
Translations of the Notice of Rights are available in Amharic, Arabic, Chinese (traditional), Japanese, Korean, Oromo, Russian, Somali, Spanish, Tagalog, Tigrigna, and Vietnamese on the App-Based Worker Ordinances webpage here or on the OLS Languages webpage under “App-Based Worker Protections” at https://www.seattle.gov/laborstandards/resources-and-language-access/languages
