City of Seattle’s Food Equity Fund Now Accepting Proposals

Get funded for community-led food equity work. This year there is $2.3 million available to community-initiated projects working to advance food equity. The Food Equity Fund supports work led by those who experience the most food and health inequities: Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), immigrants, refugees, people with low incomes, youth, and elders. Applications due by March 19, 2024

Friends of Waterfront Seattle seeks members for 2024 Community Partnership Committees!

The Community Partnership Committees are citizen advisory committees that provide recommendations and feedback in support of Friends of Waterfront Seattle’s inclusion and racial equity impact. These two committees are:  The Pulling Together Committee (PTC), consisting of Indigenous community organizers and leaders, and the Community Connections Committee (C3), consisting of BIPOC community organizers and leaders.

Cultivating Culture: Seattle nonprofit uplifts Black artists, creatives

A nonprofit in Seattle’s Central District is uplifting local Black artists and creatives. Vivian Phillips founded the online publication, Arte Noir, in May 2021; then opened a brick-and-mortar location at the corner of 23rd and Union in September 2022.

Seattle Center Festál announces its 2024 free cultural festival schedule. This series of 24 free festivals is presented throughout the year, each with a unique cultural focus, identity, and range of activities. There will be food, music, dance, art, film and more.
