New! Notice of Rights for App-Based Workers Paid Sick and Safe Time Ordinance
The notice of rights for the App-Based Workers Paid Sick and Safe Time (PSST) Ordinance is now available on the Office of Labor Standards (OLS) website.
Beginning May 1, 2023, food delivery companies with at least 250 app-based workers worldwide are required to provide each app-worker eligible to accrue PSST with the written notice of rights.
Beginning January 13, 2024, coverage expands to other app-based workers. Network companies must provide the notice of rights.
- For each app-based worker working for the food delivery network company as of May 1, 2023, network companies shall provide the notice of rights by May 30, 2023.
- For each app-based worker hired by the network company after May 1, 2023, network companies shall provide notice of rights before the app-based worker starts work.
- For each app-based worker, network companies shall provide notice of rights no less than annually.
This notice of rights provides information on:
- The right to PSST guaranteed
- The amount of PSST time accrual and the terms of its use
- The right to be protected from retaliation for exercising rights in good faith
