Seattle Channel powers State of the City Address

Seattle Channel was instrumental in Mayor Harrell’s State of the City Address in February. Nine people from the Channel assisted in conducting a site survey and working with Seattle Center staff to test streaming capabilities at the Fisher Pavilion. On the day of the event the Seattle Channel crew set up equipment, plus filmed, edited, produced, and coordinated while the event appeared live on the cable channel.

Post-event work included promotions on social media platforms. The posts were widely shared by the mayor’s office and other City departments and news organizations. The State of the City was captioned live and livestreamed to Seattle Channel’s website and to cable. The online livestream was embedded in the web coverage for The Seattle Times and KING 5, which helped Seattle Channel net nearly 1,000 unique livestream video views. The video-on-demand version has nearly 2,000 video views so far.
