2023 Minimum Wage Workplace Poster, Updates, and Resources
2023 Workplace Poster Now Available!
The 2023 Office of Labor Standards (OLS) Workplace Poster with the minimum wage adjustments, effective January 1, 2023, is now available for download on the OLS website by clicking here.
The increase is required by the Minimum Wage Ordinance. The minimum wage applies to all employees working in Seattle regardless of the workers’ immigration status.

The 2023 minimum wage for large employers (501 or more employees) is $18.69/hour.

The 2023 minimum wage for small employers (500 or fewer employees) who do not pay at least $2.19/hour toward the employee’s medical benefits and/or where the employee does not earn at least $2.19/hour in tips is $18.69/hour.

The 2023 minimum wage for small employers who do pay at least $2.19/hour toward the employee’s medical benefits and/or where the employee does earn at least $2.19/hour in tips is $16.50/hour.
2023 Workplace Poster and Translations
By September 1, 2023, employers must display the 2023 Workplace Poster in a noticeable area at the workplace, in English and the languages spoken by employees. In addition to English, OLS provides the 2023 Workplace Poster in 23 languages that include Amharic, Arabic, Chinese, Dari, Farsi, French, Japanese, Khmer, Korean, Malay, Nepali, Oromo, Pashto, Portuguese, Punjabi, Russian, Somali, Spanish, Tagalog, Thai, Tigrigna, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese. 2023 Workplace Poster Special Delivery!
Employers - check your mailbox for a 2023 Workplace Poster! In an ongoing effort to provide outreach, education, and technical support to Seattle businesses, OLS is mailing the revised workplace poster containing information on labor standards for 2023 to every business with a Seattle business license. The poster is expected to arrive next week.

Independent Contractor Protections Ordinance
The Independent Contractor Protections Ordinance is one of Seattle’s newest labor laws that took effect on September 1, 2022. The required Notice of Rights can be downloaded here. Additionally, the document is translated into the following 12 languages: Amharic, Simplified Chinese, French, Japanese, Khmer, Korean, Punjabi, Somali, Spanish, Tagalog, Tigrigna, and Vietnamese and can be found on the OLS Languages webpage here.
