In summer 2020, we launched a survey asking people who live and/or work in West Seattle to identify transportation challenges in the wake of the West Seattle Bridge closure. Nearly 17,000 people responded.
Community input through the survey informed investments and improvements to reduce the impact of bridge detour traffic on neighborhoods, and make it easier to take transit, bike, walk, and share rides.
Since the West Seattle Bridge is reopening soon, we’re following up to learn how you have been getting across the Duwamish River during the bridge closure.
If you live and/or work in West Seattle, please take our survey today.
This survey takes about 10 minutes to complete and it will be open until September 30. We appreciate your time and insights. Thank you.
People biking next to a RapidRide bus in Seattle. How have you traveled around West Seattle and the Duwamish Valley since the West Seattle Bridge closure? Let us know in the Reconnect West Seattle follow-up survey linked above.

On Saturday and Sunday, we will repave two blocks of SW 106th St between Seola Beach Drive and 32nd Ave SW. We’ll begin this work as early as 7 AM and expect to be done by 3 PM. If you are driving on SW 106th St during this work be prepared for single lane reductions. Please anticipate traffic delays. We do not expect impacts for people walking and biking in the area.
