PSE Transitioning to EnergyCAP® Software for Automated Data Exchange Services
Over the next few months, Puget Sound Energy (PSE) will be transitioning customer accounts from its MyData platform to EnergyCAP®, a no-cost, comprehensive software tool. PSE is making this change to improve servicing and streamline management of your building’s energy usage data.
As PSE prepares to switch software platforms, they need your help to ensure your building’s energy usage data transfer is uninterrupted and seamless. This is accomplished through the Share Forward process within ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager™.
Instructions to complete the share forward process here.
Building owners are encouraged to complete the Share Forward process by Aug. 12, 2022, to ensure uninterrupted access to your monthly energy data usage. An Energy CAP FAQ document may be found on the MyData website that provides additional details about the software transition.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding your MyData account, email PSE at mydata@pse.com.

89% of Buildings Compliant for 2021 Annual Reporting
Congratulations to the more than 3,200 Seattle building owners that submitted complete and accurate 2021 energy performance data. Warning Letters have been sent to non-compliant building owners. Building owners have until October 1, 2022 to submit an accurate benchmark report before penalties are assessed. More information on enforcement process and fines here.
Still need to benchmark?
To be in compliance, your building’s Portfolio Manager account must be:
- Updated with current space use details and accurate energy meter data. If you have a multifamily building, you will need to correct default data values auto assigned by EPA in 2021.
- Updated Portfolio Manager contact information.
- Able to generate a 2021 December ending Energy Use Intensity (EUI) and ENERGY STAR® score (if available), and
- Successfully shared with the City of Seattle Annual Reporting Portfolio Manager account.
Once you have completed all the required steps to make annual updates and share your 2021 benchmark report, you can check your building’s compliance status on the Seattle Benchmarking Compliance Portal. Make sure to check out our COVID FAQ if your building use has been impacted by COVID.
