The City of Seattle invites you to apply to serve on the Domestic Workers Standards Board
The City of Seattle is looking for new members to serve on the Domestic Workers Standards Board (DWSB).
The City welcomes applications from:
- Individuals who contract with or hire one or more domestic worker
- Domestic workers who are not worker organization representatives
- Hiring entities or their representatives
About the Board
The DWSB provides a place for domestic workers, employers, private households, worker organizations, and the public to consider and suggest ways to improve the working conditions of domestic workers.
The Board makes these suggestions to the Office of Labor Standards, Mayor, and City Council. Examples may include new laws or programs, and changes to the City's outreach and enforcement of the new Domestic Workers Ordinance.

The Domestic Workers Ordinance guides the purpose of the Domestic Workers Standards Board. The Seattle Office of Labor Standards provides staff and support to the Board. Board meetings are on the fourth Monday of every month from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
Board members generally commit approximately 10 hours per month to Board business and may be eligible for compensation to reflect lost opportunity costs for Board participation. The Board currently consists of 13 members, six of whom are domestic employers or their representatives, and six of whom are workers or worker representatives, and one community representative.
