Bike Everywhere Day on May 20

We are hosting a booth for Bike Everywhere Day on Friday, May 20 from 6 to 9 AM. You’ll find us located under the West Seattle Bridge where the Duwamish Trail meets the West Seattle Bridge Trail.

Stop by our booth to learn more about the project and upcoming construction of the North Segment anticipated to start this winter. We hope to see you there!

Construction activity expected to begin later this year on the North Segment

North Segment design update

We submitted 90% design plans for the North Segment in early April 2022. We expect to reach final design this spring and choose a contractor for the project in the fall. Construction of the North Segment could start as early winter 2022, but is subject to change.

North Segment Map

The North Segment runs from S Atlantic St to S Spokane St. It is fully funded for both design and construction and we expect to start construction as early as winter 2022.

North Segment freight mobility and bicycle safety improvements include:

  • 2-way protected bike lane on the east side of the street
  • Rebuilt traffic signal at S Hanford St and new signal at S Horton St
  • New roadway built to Heavy Haul standards between Jack Perry Memorial Park and S Spokane St
  • Rebuilt sidewalk on the west side of East Marginal Way S adjacent to roadway reconstruction
  • New water main north of S Horton St
  • Potential relocation of railroad tracks at S Hanford St
