Best Parks to Take in Beautiful Fall Colors

A waterfront park on a sunny fall day. There's a bench, a walking path with people and leaves on the ground.

Seattle’s parks are home to thousands of trees whose leaves change from green to yellow, yellow to orange, orange to red, red to brown, and fall to the ground. This fall its perfect time to reflect on how that even when life seems stuck, the trees around us continue to change and grow. Read more.

Fall Lantern Festival at Freeway Park

Friday October 1st, 4:30-7:30pm in the Upper Lawns

The Freeway Park Association presents the Fall Lantern Festival: Let’s gather to celebrate the creativity of our community, and collectively embrace the change of seasons with color, light, food and music. We will launch the installation of our hand-painted lanterns, created throughout the summer in Freeway Park by community members.

We will be collecting donations for our neighbors in need. Winter clothing, underwear, socks, closed-toed shoes, feminine hygiene products, body wipes, hand warmers and gift cards to local stores (ex. Fred Meyer, Target).

Pier Sounds: FREE concert series on Pier 62

Come see sensational regional bands and artists including The Black TonesD’Vonne Lewis and FriendzLady A, and Tiffany Wilson, at these free, family-friendly concerts on Pier 62! Enjoy live music, local food trucks, a beer garden, and all the sights and sounds of Seattle’s waterfront.

After more than a decade, live concerts are back at Pier 62!

Through the 1990s and early 2000s, Pier 62 was home to one of the most iconic and popular music events in the city, Summer Nights at the Pier. These unforgettable concerts helped to solidify Seattle’s status as a crucible for music and culture, and forged a lasting relationship between live music and the city’s waterfront. The Pier Sounds concert series forges this memory with new energy and music on a revitalized Pier 62 to reignite the sense of celebration and community in the place where it all began.
