Business and Restaurant Requirements During COVID-19
Last month, the Department of Finance and Administrative Services (FAS) sought input on a public health measure that's been in effect since mid-July. The public health measure requires businesses follow state-mandated requirements, including the use of protective face coverings, social distancing and adhering to capacity limits.
Taking public feedback into account, FAS has issued a permanent Director's Rule reinforcing public health measures requiring businesses to follow state-mandated business requirement.

New South Park Gateway Welcomes All
The South Park Gateway Project was installed this summer! In 2017, OED's Only in Seattle Grants provided the initial funding to the South Park Merchants Association (SPMA).
SPMA invited CREÄ Affiliates to design a gateway the reflects the many cultures that call the Duwamish Valley home. SPMA and CREÄ conducted a community engagement process that solicited input from children, elders, and community members. As the project became more ambitious additional funding was needed beyond the original OIS award. A Department of Neighborhoods Matching Fund Grant and additional fundraising went towards the gateway. Seattle Department of Transportation's Public Space Team worked with SPMA in the permitting process for the project.
The Welcome to South Park Gate Way celebrates the many cultures and history of the neighborhood, and interior lighting is powered by solar panels. The gate way is located on 14th Ave S and S Director St.

Be counted today and for the next ten years. Undercounting in the census impacts our democracy and our ability to have a full voice in policy and decision-making. Be counted to be represented.
Counting people through the census is how funding is distributed where it’s needed for the next ten years—for things like our schools, affordable housing, hospitals, and public transportation.
