Interactive map shows restaurants open for takeout and delivery

Looking for dinner ideas? Check out the City of Seattle's new interactive map to help diners find restaurants open for takeout and delivery during the statewide stay-at-home order. Seattle IT led the charge to develop the map which is part of the City's #SupportSeattleSmallBiz campaign to help assist small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

To use the map, enter a restaurant name or drop a pin and find all the available restaurants near you. The map then pulls up basic information about each eatery and the services it offers, plus any links to third-party delivery apps, such as Uber Eats or DoorDash, if they’re available. Once you select a restaurant, you can place a takeout or delivery order directly through the app or receive directions to the restaurant.

“Technology is playing an essential role to connect our community during the COVID-19 crisis. This map is one example of building a digital bridge for our residents to support our local businesses," said Seattle's Chief Technology Officer Saad Bashir in a news release issued by Mayor Jenny Durkan.
