Film, music, nightlife, and events industries, employees, and workers are being deeply impacted by the spread of COVID-19. The Seattle Office of Film + Music continues to compile resources to support the creative industries and communities during this challenging time and help access local, state, and federal resources.

Office of Economic Development Offering Technical Assistance for SBA Disaster Loans
OED provides technical assistance to businesses applying for SBA loans and understanding the federal Coronavirus Aids, Relief & Security (CARES) Act. This includes helping businesses navigate the application process and documentation. OED also offers free accounting and finance consulting services for eligible applicants who need assistance putting together the financial documents required for the application.

New #SupportSeattleSmallBiz map of restaurants, bars, cafes, and breweries providing services
Mayor Jenny A. Durkan announced on March 30 the City of Seattle’s new #SupportSeattleSmallBiz map, which helps residents find small businesses providing takeout or delivery in their neighborhood. The map allows users to search for open small businesses in their neighborhood and navigate directly to a business’ website or third-party delivery service page. Federal Help for Gig and Creative Industry Workers
On March 27, Congress passed a third package of emergency relief legislation, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security “CARES” Act. The "CARES" Act provides several benefits for workers in the creative industries, including expanded unemployment insurance for gig workers. .

Washington State’s Whipsmart Resource List
Whipsmart, a new creative economy-focused nonprofit that gives creative professionals the tools they need to succeed, has assembled a resource list that provides a comprehensive list of resources for creatives that will be updated in real time by a dedicated staff member to ensure that the information is timely and relevant.
