"I Know What I Am: The Life and Times of Artemisia Gentileschi," is a beautifully-realized graphic novel from cartoonist Gina Siciliano. The biography, which took seven years to research and create, tells the story of a 17th century Italian master painter who has not yet received the attention and accolades she deserves for the simple fact of being a woman in a man's world. Artemisia's most famous painting, "Judith and Holofernes," is part of Seattle Art Museum's current exhibit "Flesh and Blood."

Meet our new communications intern! Erin Jones is a Seattle native who joins us from the University of Washington where she’s studying communications, diversity and technology. At UW, she’s active in the newly created Mixed Student Union, a club dedicated to creating a community for students who identify with mixed race. Erin is also active at the school’s Association of Women in Communications, where she serves as a public relations officer. She contributes articles to UW’s ‘Her Campus’ publication and has a heavy and creative hand with social media, communications, and marketing for her church in Tacoma.
