Seattle Film Task Force: Applications and Nominations Now Open

The Seattle Office of Film + Music is establishing the City of Seattle Film Task Force, an equal and equitable group of film industry and community stakeholders, which will inform Office of Film + Music priorities. The work of the Film Task Force will include establishing industry and community relationships, advising government and Office of Film + Music on annual workplan and budget priorities, assisting government in the development of film policy, and other endeavors to assist the Office of Film + Music in its mission to support and grow the film industry.

Please click here to apply for membership and to nominate others for membership in the Film Task Force. The application and nomination process will be open until January 8, 2020. The Film Task Force will convene on January 31, 2020, and will meet monthly through 2020.

Film Day is Tuesday, January 21, 2020 in Olympia - Film Day provides an opportunity for you to meet with your legislator face-to-face to remind them how the film industry impacts Washington State through job creation, economic activity, and cultural enrichment. SIFF Welcomes Andrew L. Haines as New Executive Director

Earlier this month, Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) announced the hiring of Andrew L. Haines as the non-profit's new Executive Director. Haines, who will join SIFF in January, has been Director of Marketing and Communications and a member of the leadership team at Seattle Rep since 2015. Amy Fulford of management consulting firm enlight has served as Interim Executive Director since former Executive Director Sarah Wilke stepped down in March. Learn more here

 

Celebrate New Year’s Eve with free rides on King County Metro

King County Metro will help riders safely usher in 2020 with free bus rides from 7 p.m. on New Year’s Eve through 4 a.m. on New Year’s Day. Free rides on Metro service are sponsored in part by Seattle Center, which draws thousands of people for New Year’s Eve festivities. Learn more here
