Next Mixer is 9/25 at NWFF Local Sightings Film Fest - Join Us!

Our next Mixer will take place at Northwest Film Forum (1515 12th Ave, Seattle, WA) from 5-7pm during NWFF's Local Sightings Film Festival (Sept 20-29), Seattle's only festival dedicated to Pacific Northwest films and filmmakers.

In addition to time for networking, this month’s event includes an overview of NWFF’s Local Sightings Film Festival and local film industry findings compiled by The Ostara Group — the result of a number of listening sessions with local film stakeholders, led by the Office of Film + Music, Northwest Film Forum, and Washington Filmworks. Chris Swenson, Film + Special Events Manager at Seattle’s Office of Film & Music (OFM), and Bobby Lee, Director of the Office of Economic Development (OED), will present a changing model for numerous Seattle city offices, including OFM, OED, and ARTS, as they re-envision a scenario where film is a cornerstone of the City’s creative economy strategy. Thanks to everyone who made it out to the arts equity Mixer at Northwest African American Museum! Please visit our Seattle Film + Music Blog to learn what we heard from Seattle's creative community on how the City can work towards solutions that will change the status quo, particularly for artists and creatives of color.

This event was the final community conversation in a series of four, in which artists and creative professionals were invited to help shape the City’s vision for the local creative economy.
