Thanks to everyone who made it out to our second Creative Economy Mixer at the Clock-Out Lounge on June 26! We’ll soon have some findings to share with you from our conversation on “Surviving and Thriving in the Creative Gig Economy” so stay tuned!

Also, please make sure to mark your calendars for the next Creative Economy Mixer, which will take place on July 31st 5pm at Youngstown Cultural Arts Center in the North Delridge neighborhood. We will have a panel discussion and breakout session around the topic of Space Affordability for creatives and learn about some of the investment models that cultural organizations, private businesses, and arts advocates are using to ensure that creativity still has a place in Seattle.

FILM CAREER DAY is presented by the City of Seattle’s Officee of Film + Music, in partnership with NFFTY and One Reel. In its inaugural year (2018), over 300 students, young adults, and educators converged on Seattle Center.

“East of the Mountains” Wraps Filming in Ballard and Wallingford - After filming the majority of its scenes in Eastern Washington this spring and summer, locally-produced East of the Mountains filmed at two Seattle locations in Ballard and Wallingford during its last week of production in late June. The production was financially supported by Washington Filmworks’ groundbreaking Local Lens incentive program, which prioritizes its film incentive funding exclusively to locally made film productions.
