The Civic Cocktail season finale, 6 p.m., Wednesday, June 5, at Palace Ballroom, will feature two fights. The fight for LGBTQ rights is still a flashpoint 50 years after Stonewall. Plus, the state is stepping up its wildfire-fighting efforts.
Tobi Hill-Meyer, co-executive director of Gender Justice League, and Anne Levinson, a former municipal court judge, deputy mayor of Seattle and one of Washington's first out public officials, join host Joni Balter to reflect on how far the movement has come and how far it has to go. And Washington Commissioner of Public Lands Hilary Franz will discuss the region’s wildfire readiness and the impacts of climate change on forest health. Presented in partnership with Seattle CityClub.
