Meet Music Commissioner Tony Kiewel - Seattle Music Commissioner Tony Kiewel is currently Co-President of Seattle-based Sub Pop Records. Tony began his career at Sub Pop as the Commercial Radio Director but shifted to the A&R (artists and repertoire) department soon after his arrival. While overseeing A&R, he was responsible for bringing dozens of artists to the label, including The Postal Service, Sleater-Kinney, Father John Misty, Flight of the Conchords and David Cross. Tony has been serving on the Seattle Music Commission since September 2016. Producer and Engineering Inclusion Initiative - Only two percent of music producers and three percent of engineers/mixers across popular music are women. The Recording Academy Task Force on Inclusion and Diversity announced the first ever industry-wide Producer and Engineering Inclusion Initiative.
