Submitting an on-time report of accomplishments is one of the mandatory Conservation Accountability Performance Program (CAPP) standards for CDs. Please mark your calendars - report content is due September 24, 2021.
What do I need to do?
To learn more about the process, tips, and changes to the report this year, please register to attend the Webinar on CD Report Pages - Tips and Q&A on August 5. See the original webinar invite (sent 7/23) for more information.
Why is it a "biennial" report? Haven't we typically done annual reports?
We made a change to our reporting process that we hope works better for everyone.
Up until fiscal year '20, the SCC assembled annual reports that included one full page of accomplishments for each of the 45 conservation districts. Moving forward, the SCC will alternate the format of our report every other year:
-
Odd-numbered years: After the close of the state biennium, the SCC will develop a detailed report that rolls up accomplishments achieved through state-funded programs (e.g., Natural Resource Investments, Irrigation Efficiencies) and includes one page for each CD to feature accomplishments from the previous biennium. The product will be similar to our 2019 report, except the reporting period is the biennium, rather than fiscal year. June 30, 2021 marked the end of the 19-21 biennium, so this is the report format we're following this year.
-
Even-numbered years: At the mid-biennium point, the SCC will develop a more concise and thematic report of highlights from the past fiscal year, similar to the report we published for fiscal year '20. To satisfy the reporting requirement in even years, CDs will be asked to make sure their projects in CPDS are up-to-date and to please respond to requests for more information if the SCC would like to feature one of your projects in the report. Our next report using this format will be after the close of fiscal year '22, which ends June 30, 2022.
These changes will save valuable CD and SCC time while still allowing us to be effective in how we report our work to state leaders and partners.
