The Snoqualmie Tribe has launched the Ancestral Lands Movement, where through education and awareness individuals can integrate land acknowledgement and respect for the Snoqualmie Tribe into their recreational practices and experiences. The Ancestral Lands Movement seeks to spread awareness of the Snoqualmie people who have lived in the southern Salish Sea region since time immemorial and share the significance of these lands and provide information on how people can help the Tribe in respecting, restoring, and protecting these lands. The City of Sammamish has pledged to support the Snoqualmie Tribe Ancestral Lands Movement as a city partner. The Snoqualmie Tribe Ancestral Lands Proclamation was signed by Mayor Karen Moran on behalf of the Sammamish City Council at its July 6, 2021 meeting.

The Urban Forest Management Plan (UFMP) is the City's policy guide for managing, enhancing, and growing trees in Sammamish over the next 20 years and includes goals and objectives around Urban Forest Sustainability, Efficiency in Municipal Operations, and Community Collaboration, and Engagement. The UFMP Strategic Implementation Plan (SIP) will make the goals and objectives of the UFMP actionable by working to establish the Urban Forest Management Program. This customized app will present nearly fifty challenges or clues that will get your group traveling through the city of Sammamish’s historic, unique landmarks and public amenities for a common goal or destination.

Notice is hereby given that the City of Sammamish Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing to consider changes to SMC Title 13 – Surface Water Management, SMC Title 14A – Public Facilities, SMC Title 16 – Buildings and Construction, SMC Title 19A – Land Division, SMC Title 20 – Administrative Procedures/Environmental Policy, SMC Title 21 – Historic Preservation, SMC Title 21A – Development Code, and SMC Title 21B – Town Center. The project also includes the creation of a Unified Development Code to centralize the City’s Development Regulations into one Title of the Sammamish Municipal Code.

Join a guided labyrinth walk. Guided walks introduce the history of labyrinths and offer approaches for walking. You'll walk the labyrinth in the company of others and see how it works for you.
