The Snoqualmie Tribe Vaccine Partnership Site is supplying vaccines for eligible Eastside residents living on Snoqualmie Tribe Ancestral Lands. As a sovereign nation, the Snoqualmie Tribe is providing the vaccine necessary to operate the mass vaccination site at Lake Sammamish State Park. Have you seen something new on the Sammamish Plaza? It’s a pop up labyrinth! A labyrinth is an ancient design intended for walking, which often fosters calm reflection on the part of the walker. Next time you’re at the Commons or the library, spend an extra 15 minutes to give the labyrinth a spin. You’ll find it on the Plaza between the library and the City Hall. Join King County Library and the City of Sammamish featuring a book in Sammamish’s city parks this May. Follow the Lower Commons Park path near the YMCA, Sammamish Library and City Hall and read a picture book displayed one page at a time-- 1,000 steps around the park! The book Yellow Kayak will be featured May 1-22 from local author Nina Laden. Look for the start at the stairs by the YMCA and have fun exploring the path as you read together! The Sammamish Arts Commission is looking for community members interested in participating in our Fairy House Trail. Participate as an individual, family or group to design and construct a Fairy House for a trail in a park. The Fairy Houses will be displayed through the month of June at a local park in the community. The public can a stroll through the fairy house lane and enjoy the amazing work by the community. In the Fall of 2019, the Park and Recreation Department partnered with the Arts Commission in asking for photos of people’s favorite parks and trails. Selection of a winning entry would was be made by public vote. An exhibit of the photos was planned for City Hall’s Commons Gallery.
And then came the winter of 2020. City Hall was closed. The photo exhibit was put on hold. Now pivoting to a new plan, the exhibit has gone virtual. Enjoy our online gallery! Click on individual images to enjoy in full-size glory!
