Sammamish Rotary will be collecting toiletries for 225 homeless people who will be moving into permanent housing procured by the Low Income Housing Institute (LIHI) of Seattle. Full-size personal hygiene items such as shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, dental floss, disposable razors, feminine hygiene products, and bar soap can be dropped off at Sammamish City Hall on Sunday, March 14, 2021 between 2pm - 4pm.

The Sammamish Kiwanis Club is hosting an "easy meals" food drive for Issaquah Food Bank. Items such as cooking oil, Hamburger Helper, Pasta Roni, Hearty Soups can be dropped off at Sammamish City Hall tomorrow, Saturday, March 13, 1-2pm, or can be picked up by emailing CommunitySupport@SammamishKiwanis.org. Have participants drop off the items to you. Drop off donations at Sammamish City Hall on the designated day, or we will pick up and deliver to the organizations. Join Master Stewards from the Washington Native Plant Society and the City to help plant and mulch at East Sammamish Park. Give back to your community, learn about native plants and enhance wildlife habitat! This project is perfect for students looking to complete community service hours for school. Water, snacks, gloves and tools will be provided. Please dress appropriately for weather, wear long sleeves/pants and closed-toed shoes. Masks are required to wear when on site and working. Social distancing will be enforced while working.

The City of Sammamish is inviting residents to share and vote on new banner designs to be featured on the Connect Sammamish homepage. Residents will have five themes which they can enter in. We are asking residents to design a banner that best encapsulates the theme category they are entering. Entries with the most votes within each theme will be featured on the Homepage with design credit/attribution. Residents can enter three designs per theme. This is a rideshare pilot program brought to Sammamish by King County Metro in partnership with the City of Sammamish, to provide community members with a new way to share a ride. Support your neighbors, your community and help the environment by becoming a Community Van volunteer driver. You can choose which trips you drive and how many times you drive a week. Since the beginning of the pandemic, there has been an increase of reported incidents against Asian Americans across the nation. While Sammamish has not had any reported incidents, we do encourage anyone who experiences or witnesses a bias-related incident to call 911 to ensure the incident is handled properly.
