Community Donation Drive

2X4 for Families: Community Collection Drive, 2 Organizations, 4 Hours. Support families in Sammamish by donating to Eastside Baby Corner and the Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank at a 4-hour, contactless, drive-by donation drive tomorrow, Saturday, May 2nd from 12 pm-4 pm at the Rowley Center in Issaquah. For safety reasons, please bring only the donations listed on their website.

Pick-up and safety alert

Republic will be resuming bulky waste pick-up on Monday, 5/4. Due to COVID-19 precautions, extra trash/recycling/yard waste must still be bagged and set out at the curb or stored in an additional cart or can. Extra charges will occur, as normal, on all extras.

With more cars parked on neighborhood streets right now, it can be harder for drivers to see pedestrians or children playing. Our waste management contractors at Republic Services (with big, heavy trucks that are hard to stop quickly!) remind you to keep an eye on your children when they play near the street and to watch for moving vehicles. And if you're driving, please be on alert for children and pedestrians emerging from between parked cars. Stay safe, everyone!

Community Van

Community Van is recruiting volunteer drivers! Are you interested in helping your community by providing members with a way to get food and go to doctor’s appointments? Are you at lower risk for COVID-19 (under the age of 60, not pregnant, and free of underlying health conditions)? Sign up today to be a neighborhood hero!

Cone Zone

These road work projects are scheduled in Sammamish for the week of May 1 - 8.

SCHEDULES MAY CHANGE DUE TO WEATHER AND/OR EQUIPMENT AVAILABILITY

Please Note: Usual limited work hours of 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. are suspended while local schools are out of session. Summer hours of 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. will apply until further notice.

4th Street: Sidewalks and Median Islands

Significant changes are underway. The contractor is working on the center medians and roundabout islands. Please use caution at the roundabout intersections: It is going to be tight for a while. The approach lanes to the intersections will have plenty of space for vehicles once constructed, but not all of that space is currently available. Large vehicles should avoid the roadway for now. During hours of work, two-way traffic will be sharing a lane controlled by flaggers. During non-work hours, traffic will be travelling in normal lanes.

Other project work includes:

  • The new right-turn lane for eastbound traffic on 228th Ave., which will require a temporary southbound lane closure
  • Irrigation installation and sidewalk paver block installation between 224th Ave. SE and 225th Place SE
  • Work on 218th Ave SE and 225th Place SE next to SKY Apartments.

Flaggers will be managing traffic through the work zone. Typical work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Underground Gas Line Work on SR 202

Puget Sound Energy – Gas will be conducting a Single Lane Closure on SR 202 in the vicinity of Evans Creek May 4 - 5. Expected work hours are 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM.

City-Wide Tree-Trimming

Watch for workers trimming trees near power lines throughout the City for the next week.

Storm Pipe Installation on Issaquah-Pine Lake Road

Beginning Monday, May 4th, a contractor will begin storm pipe installation on Issaquah Pine Lake Road and 35th Street. This work is expected to last about a week-and-a-half and to include minor traffic delays.

Issaquah-Fall City Road (IFCR)

  • The temporary roundabout at SE Issaquah-Beaver Lake Rd./256th Ave. SE/SE 32nd St/E Beaver Lake Dr. SE is operational. Only final touch-ups are remaining, which are being scheduled.
  • Construction of the bridge has begun.  So far, 6 of the 12 drilled underground shafts have been completed. Six more remain, then they will start building the above-ground work. The area is closed to the public.
  • Paving between 242nd and 247th Ave. SE is complete. Traffic has been shifted to the south side of the roadway. Work has started along the north half of the roadway in this area.
  • The contractor will continue to work in the intersection of 247th Ave. SE near the middle school.

Please note that during peak delays, using the project detour route, Issaquah Beaver Lake Road to Issaquah Pine Lake Road, may result in shorter drive times.

Work hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

CLOSURE NOTICE: Issaquah Fall City Road is closed for construction.

  • Local access will be maintained during the closure.
  • Beginning April 18th, the roadway closure will remain between 247th Place SE and Klahanie Dr. SE. This closure is expected to last through December 2020.
  • For more information and project updates please visit the project portal on Connect Sammamish.
