Per King County recommendations to slow the spread of COVID-19, there will be NO IN-PERSON PUBLIC ACCESS TO PUBLIC MEETINGS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. We are taking public comment for City Council meetings via email. These meetings will continue to be broadcast to Channel 21 within Sammamish and archived on our YouTube Channel. We will also be livestreaming on our Facebook page

COVID-19 Information

COVID-19 Updates:

  • On March 11th, Sammamish City Hall closed to the public to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. We will keep you updated as the situation changes. Contacts for services:

  • With K-12 schools out of session until at least April 24th, Public Health - Seattle & King County issued new guidance for gatherings of children and youth today.
  • The City of Sammamish published COVID-19 Economic Resources for Businesses, Employees, and Individuals.
  • The City of Sammamish is cancelling all rentals at City Parks facilities through March 31st. Renters in April and May have been notified of the possibility of cancellation as well. Sammamish Parks continue to be open for general use. Learn More
  • Interior residential building and electrical inspections in Sammamish will be suspended March 16-18, 2020. This downtime will allow city staff to focus on developing alternative inspection methods so that we can continue with this service and help minimize the spread of COVID-19. Learn More

These road work projects are scheduled in Sammamish for the week of March 13-20.

SCHEDULES MAY CHANGE DUE TO WEATHER AND/OR EQUIPMENT AVAILABILITY

Please Note: Usual limited work hours of 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. are suspended while local schools are out of session. Summer hours of 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. will apply until further notice.

City of Issaquah: Work on SE 43rd Way

The City of Issaquah has alerted us that they'll soon begin their project to add a signal to SE 43rd Way. Learn more on their news page.

WSDOT: SR 202

WSDOT will have SR 202 down to one lane overnight from 8 p.m. Wednesday, 3/8, to 6 a.m. Thursday, 3/19 in two locations near Sammamish, in preparation to improve fish passage under the road this summer. They will have flaggers between 244th Ave. NE and NE Ames Lake Rd., and between 308th Ave. SE to SE 40th St.

4th Street: Sidewalks, Storm Drains, and Streetscaping

The contractor is completing the storm tank installation near 228th Ave. SE and will soon be starting to work on constructing the new right-turn lane for eastbound traffic at the 228th Ave. SE intersection. At the west end of the project, activities will be increasing as crews work to construct a retaining wall for sidewalk along 218th Ave. SE and begin grading for curb and gutter at the intersection with SE 4th St.  Other active work includes installation of irrigation and street lighting, and localized areas of sanitary sewer construction. In the upcoming weeks, work will start on 225th Pl. SE and on the paver block sidewalks within the Town Center project area. Flaggers continue to manage traffic through the work zone. Typical work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

228th Catch Basin Repair

Work  in the northbound direction will soon be complete. Work to repair the catch basins along the roadway will continue on 228th in the southbound direction starting near SE 8th and moving toward SE 24th. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in the work location. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Issaquah-Fall City Road (IFCR)

  • The temporary roundabout at SE Issaquah-Beaver Lake Rd./256th Ave. SE/SE 32nd St/E Beaver Lake Dr. SE is operational. The roundabout will remain open while curb, truck apron, paint lines, lighting, & pedestrian crossing work is completed.
  • When the concrete work is complete, work will begin on the new traffic circle at 247th and SE 45th Way. 
  • PSE Electric, Comcast, & Century Link will relocate existing poles and lines between 247th and Klahanie to allow the bridge construction to begin.
  • The new concrete student walkway and stairs leading up to the front entrance of Pacific Cascade Middle School are being built.
  • Drainage installation continues at and around 245th and 247th.
  • Please note that during peak delays, using the project detour route, Issaquah Beaver Lake Rd to Issaquah Pine Lake Road, may result in shorter drive times.

DATES

  • Estimated dates for the ROAD CLOSURE are April 13, 2020, to December 31, 2020, between 247th and Klahanie Blvd. only. Updates on the actual closure date will be posted ASAP.

Cable-Laying on 244th at Klahanie

A contractor has begun performing a directional drill job to lay approximately 6000 feet of cable on 244th at Klahanie, in front of the Klahanie Information Center. It will take approximately three weeks for the conduit to be installed, with patching of sidewalks and asphalt to follow. Permanent restoration of sidewalks and streets will follow shortly thereafter, and we will post those dates when we have them.
