LWSF Be the Bridge

1 in 5 youth experience a mental health condition. Sometimes, these are not easily seen by others, but that doesn't mean they aren't real. The Lake Washington Schools Foundation invites you to join them to be the bridge for our students so that they may be well, be resilient, and be set up for success. March 26 from 11:30am-1pm at the Marriott Redmond, featuring Law Enforcement Mental Health Professional, Susie Kroll. To register to attend, visit www.lwsf.org/bethebridge.

Cone Zone

These road work projects are scheduled in Sammamish for the week of February 28 - March 6.

SCHEDULES MAY CHANGE DUE TO WEATHER AND/OR EQUIPMENT AVAILABILITY

Work hours are 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. unless otherwise specified.

4th Street: Sidewalks, Storm Drains, and Streetscaping

The contractor is completing the storm tank installation near 228th Ave. SE and will soon be starting to work on constructing the new right-turn lane for eastbound traffic at the 228th Ave. SE intersection. At the west end of the project, activities will be increasing as crews work to construct a retaining wall for sidewalk along 218th Ave. SE and begin grading for curb and gutter at the intersection with SE 4th St.  Other active work includes installation of irrigation and streetlighting, and localized areas of sanitary sewer construction. In the upcoming weeks, work will start on 225th Pl. SE and on the paver block sidewalks within the Town Center project area. Flaggers continue to manage traffic through the work zone. Typical work hours are 7:00am to 5:00pm.

228th Catch Basin Repair

Work will continue on 228th between Discovery Elementary and Skyline High School to repair the catch basins along the roadway. Traffic has been reduced to one lane in the work location. Work is occurring along the northbound direction.

Verizon 5G Drilling on 228th

A contractor has begun installing conduit by directional drilling along the northbound 228th Ave. SE sidewalk between SE 24th Street and Issaquah-Pine Lake Road.

  • The northbound curb lane may be affected by lane closures for equipment to access work areas, which may also close the sidewalks in some places.
  • Sidewalk detours will be provided for pedestrians to navigate around the closures.
  • Signalized intersections will have off-duty uniformed patrol officers onsite.
  • This work is anticipated to last approximately two more weeks.

Issaquah-Fall City Road (IFCR)

  • The temporary roundabout at SE Issaquah-Beaver Lake Rd./256th Ave. SE/SE 32nd St/E Beaver Lake Dr. SE is operational. The roundabout will remain open while curb, truck apron, paint lines, lighting, & pedestrian crossing work is completed.
  • When the concrete work is complete, work will begin on the new traffic circle at 247th and SE 45th Way.
  • Puget Sound Energy (PSE) Electric, Comcast, Century Link, & Verizon are relocating to a Joint Utility Trench between 245th and 247th.
  • PSE Electric, Comcast, & Century Link will relocate existing poles and lines between 247th and Klahanie to allow the bridge construction to begin.
    • PSE Electric (Asplundh) will be removing trees in the new PSE utility corridor on the south side of the road on private property in King County.
    • The contractor will be removing trees on the north side of the road that have been identified for removal by the project arborist. Note: All trees in direct conflict with the structure are assessed for health and chances for survival by the project arborist. All healthy, viable trees are saved and/or moved.
  • The new concrete student walkway and stairs leading up to the front entrance of Pacific Cascade Middle School are being built.
  • Drainage installation continues at and around 245th.
  • Please note that during peak delays, using the project detour route, Issaquah Beaver Lake Rd to Issaquah Pine Lake Road, may result in shorter drive times.

DATES

  • Estimated dates for the ROAD CLOSURE are March 28th, 2020, to November 28th, 2020, between 247th and Klahanie Blvd. only. Updates on the actual closure date will be posted ASAP.
