Mayor Birney Elected 2022 Sound Cities Association President

Last week, Sound Cities Association (SCA) announced that Mayor Birney was elected to serve as their 2022 president. SCA represents 38 King County cities and provides a regional voice for more than one million people. SCA helps King County cities act locally and partner regionally to create vital and thriving communities through advocacy, education, leadership, mutual support, and networking.

Thank You, Redmond Kiwanis!

Last week the Redmond Kiwanis presented the City with a check to support the community builder investment campaign for the Redmond Senior & Community Center. Many Kiwanians have been involved in the project, including in the stakeholder group, which provides consistent community input into the design and process. Thank you, Redmond Kiwanis, for your continued support!

Tourism Grants

Apply for Special Event and Tourism Grant Funding

The City is now accepting a second round of applications for 2022 special event and tourism grants. Grants are provided through the Tourism Promotion Program for projects that assist with tourism development and marketing in the City of Redmond. To be considered for grant funding, applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 16.

Seniors in Bytes Cafe

Seniors Welcomed Back to Programs

The City’s Parks and Recreation program for seniors, ages 50 and up, welcomed back participants to some in-person activities, interest groups, and drop-in hours at its interim space in City Hall and at the Redmond Community Center at Marymoor Village. The senior curbside lunch program continues to operate outside of City Hall on Mondays and Wednesdays. COVID-19 protocols are followed for the safety of all participants and staff.
