Suspected Redmond bank robber arrested

Redmond police have arrested a 37-year-old male suspected of robbing a Key Bank on Jan. 4. The suspect entered the bank located in the 16400 block of Redmond Way around 2:30 p.m. and gave a teller a note demanding money.

The robber made off with several thousand dollars and left the area. Officers quickly responded, collected evidence and a K-9 track was conducted around the area. The suspect was not immediately located.

Detectives continued investigating at the bank, interviewed witnesses and submitted evidence for processing. Among other clues, matching fingerprints and images from surveillance video helped detectives identify the suspect.

Police located the suspect at a local apartment complex on March 18, took him into custody without incident and he is facing robbery charges. RPD does not name suspects until they are formally charged.
