Background

There is an urgent need for more dedicated senior and community center space in Redmond. In 2018, the City was forced to close the leased Old Redmond Schoolhouse, and in 2019, the Redmond Senior Center closed due to structural damage.

Two back-to-back community outreach campaigns in 2020 confirmed that Redmond needs a larger center to serve the displaced senior population, while serving the entire community with cultural arts, events, multigenerational recreation experiences, and much needed gathering areas.

In 2020, over 2,500 seniors and Redmond residents provided input to help shape the design and amenities of a new Redmond Senior and Community Center. The community is now invited to provide input on the proposed design and amenities and to share new ideas.
