Redmond, WA The City of Redmond is seeking candidates for its Human Services Commission. Individuals must live or work in Redmond and be interested in a broad spectrum of human service issues, including basic needs, health care, counseling, domestic violence, and family support. Commission meetings are mandatory and held on the second Monday of each month from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. All board and commission members are volunteers.

The Commission’s role is to advise the Mayor and Council on general human services issues and to make specific funding recommendations as part of the City’s budget process every two years. Desirable qualities of a commissioner include a strong interest in the issues, a willingness to learn, and a passion for working to strengthen the City’s effectiveness in addressing these issues. Please note that individuals who work for or serve on the board of directors of a human service agency delivering services to city residents are not eligible for consideration.
