REDMOND, WA - The Redmond community is invited to participate in the Redmond 2050 project and help update policies for housing, transportation, city services, natural resources, future growth, and much more. The community’s input on this multi-year project will guide growth and development in Redmond for the next 30 years. More information on this project can be found at

“It is important that those who live and work in Redmond join the conversation about our future,” said Mayor Angela Birney. “We need your input and perspective to ensure that we continue to serve local needs in the years to come.”

Due to the limitations of in-person meetings during COVID-19, a virtual City Hall lobby will host information online about the project. This digital experience will allow the community to learn more and provide input on several topics. Content in the virtual lobby will change depending on the phase of the project, including:

  • Project Themes – Join the conversation about how Redmond can move forward on policies related to economic resiliency, equity and inclusion, sustainability, and ways to have technology enhance the City.
  • Environmental Review & Analysis – With input from the community, the City will be conducting a comprehensive environmental review and analysis of proposed changes. The scoping for the Environmental Impact Statement, developed per the State Environmental Protection Act (SEPA), will take place from Monday, October 12, through Wednesday, November 25, 2020.
  • Areas & Types of Future Growth – Help decide where future housing and jobs should go. This phase will begin in November of 2020. In early 2021, together with the community, we’ll explore what growth should look like and what types of housing will meet our needs.
  • Options & Alternatives – With a clear vision established, we will determine how that vision will be implemented, including options and alternatives for plan and code updates, incentive programs, and other tools that will move us towards our desired future. This phase will take place in 2021 through 2023.
