Redmond, WA – King County Public Health has notified the City of multiple presumptive COVID-19 (coronavirus) cases related to several Redmond adult care facilities. Adult care facilities host higher-risk populations that are known to have complications with the virus. The City is in contact with the adult care facilities, the CDC and King County Public Health Department about the confirmed Redmond cases and is monitoring the situation closely.

This remains a dynamic event, and the City continues to operate its Emergency Operations Center to coordinate our response to the presence of COVID-19 in our community. All emergency crews are fully staffed and prepared to respond as necessary and using CDC recommended Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The City is actively monitoring all City of Redmond Fire personnel to insure they are in good health before they begin their shifts. The CDC is handling the training and education at the facilities and is keeping us informed as this situation evolves.

“We are asking the community to continue to practice social distancing and healthy habits to prevent further spread of COVID-19,” said City of Redmond Emergency Manager, Pattijean Hooper. “Let’s all do our part to stay educated, minimize exposure and protect the most vulnerable populations in our community.”

If you believe you have symptoms of COVID-19 but have not been in contact with a confirmed case, call your healthcare provider and inform them about your symptoms. Follow the advice of your healthcare provider about whether to go to your doctor to get tested or to remain at home.

If you are in King County and believe you were exposed to a confirmed case of COVID-19, or if you’re a healthcare provider with questions about COVID-19, contact the King County Novel Coronavirus Call Center: 206-477-3977.
