Redmond, WA – The City of Redmond invites community members to complete the new online questionnaire by February 21, 2020 at www.letsconnectredmond.com/RSC. This new questionnaire asks for community input on their priorities and needs. The City will use this input as it moves forward in evaluating the future of the Redmond Senior Center site on Municipal Campus. The building has been closed since September due to structural damage.

The questionnaire will help inform City Council’s decision on how to replace the existing Senior Center building and meet the needs of the community. Two options emerged from the first round of public outreach and community input. They are to rebuild a similar building on the same location for use as a dedicated senior center, or to build a larger all-ages community center with dedicated senior space at the site.

The Redmond Senior Center closed in September 2019 after the discovery of substantial structural damage. Community members were involved through public meetings and questionnaires. They evaluated options from renovating the Senior Center, to expanding it to include some new amenities. That process narrowed the options down to two possibilities currently under evaluation. City Council will review final recommendations in March.
