Strong Winds Expected Today
The National Weather Service is predicting very windy conditions through Thursday. Tree damage, new power outages and reduced visibility due to blowing snow may impact our region. Report power outages on the Puget Sound Energy mobile outage app or visit their website.
If you see fallen utility wires, stay at least 35 feet away and call 911! If a power line falls on your vehicle, DO NOT exit your vehicle in case the lines are still energized. Energized lines can charge the ground near the point of contact and may electrocute you.
As the snow begins to melt, localized flooding, tree damage and landslide threats increase. Here are some safety tips for you and your family:
To help avoid localized flooding, please clear all storm drains of snow and debris around your homes and businesses.
Never stand under trees or other structures with ice or heavy, wet snow. Portions of snow, ice and trees may fall due to the weight.
Melting snow and increased rainfall seep into soil, increasing the threat of landslides. Be aware of this risk and stay informed on the weather.
