Extreme Cold Safety Tips

In addition to the possibility of snow, please be prepared for extremely cold temperatures. Here are some cold weather safety tips and resources:

• Know the signs of cold weather-related illnesses especially in more vulnerable populations and anyone exposed to cold temperatures for extended amounts of time.
• NEVER use a generator indoors, in garages or carports and don’t cook inside on a charcoal or gas grill. Learn more
• Make sure your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms have new batteries and are working properly.
• Bring pets indoors during extremely cold temperatures.
• Be sure to check on your neighbors especially in prolonged power outages.
