Redmond,
WA – The Redmond Fire Department and King County Fire District 34 are
partnering together to host several open houses at local fire stations
throughout Fire Prevention Week. Fire Prevention Week is a national campaign
that runs October 7-13 and this year’s theme is "Look. Listen. Learn. Be aware. Fire can happen anywhere”.
The open houses will offer fun,
educational and family-oriented activities that teach awareness of fire risk. The
seven fire stations of the Redmond Fire Department will be open to the public
to provide an opportunity for citizens to tour their local stations, meet the
firefighters that serve their community and learn more about the various types
of fire risks. Children of all ages will also have an opportunity to meet
Sparky the Fire Dog and climb aboard the fire engines that Redmond Fire uses to
serve the City.
Open houses
will begin on Monday, October 8th, and run from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00
p.m. each weekday. The Station 11 open house will be on Saturday, October 13th,
from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
