REDMOND, WA - The City of Redmond has
an additional opening on the Planning Commission for anyone who lives within
Redmond city limits. The City is committed to having a Commission that reflects
the diversity of the community and encourages applications from all residents
with interest in the future of Redmond, including those who may have applied
for past vacancies.
The Planning Commission’s
role is to make recommendations to the City Council regarding proposed
amendments to Redmond’s Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Code. These
recommendations are on topics involving the future growth of the City,
infrastructure, and the environment, among others. Desirable qualities of a
commissioner include a strong interest in the diversity of community issues, an
ability to review the meeting materials in advance, and skills in communicating
with others.
The seven-member
Commission meets at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesdays, typically three times a month, at
Redmond City Hall. All board and commission members are volunteers.
To learn more about the commission or to
apply, please go to http://www.redmond.gov/Government/BoardsCommissions/, click on “Community Service Application” and
submit a completed online application. There is no deadline, but interested
citizens are encouraged to apply by 5:00 p.m. on March 2, 2018. The
position will remain open until filled.
