Redmond, WA – The Redmond Fire
Department and King County Fire District 34 are partnering together to host
several open houses at local fire stations throughout Fire Prevention Week.
Fire Prevention Week is a national campaign that runs October 8-14 and this
year’s theme is "Every Second Counts: Plan 2 Ways Out!”
The open houses will offer fun,
educational and family-oriented activities, focusing on the importance of
developing a thorough escape plan in the event of an emergency. The
seven fire stations of the Redmond Fire Department will be open to the public
to provide an opportunity for citizens to tour their neighborhood stations, meet
the firefighters that serve their community and learn more about proper escape
planning. Children of all ages will also have an opportunity to meet Sparky the
Fire Dog and climb aboard the fire engines that Redmond Fire uses to serve the
City.
Open houses
will begin on Monday, October 9, and run from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. each
weekday. The Station 11 open house will be on Saturday, October 14, from 10:00
a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
