REDMOND, WA -  This morning at 6:39 am, Redmond Police received a 911 call from Hartman Pool located at 17535 NE 104th Street in Redmond. A Woodinville High School swim coach reported that a cell phone was found inside the female staff locker room taped to a wall.

Officers responded and within a few minutes arrested a 25-yer-old Redmond male suspect and confiscated the phone. The suspect was transported to the Redmond Police Department, interviewed by a detective and confessed to placing the phone there. A thorough investigation is underway for voyeurism. Detectives are currently pursuing warrants to search the phone and his computer.

The Hartman Pool building is owned by the City of Redmond, but is operated and managed by a contractor, WAVE Aquatics. The 25-year-old suspect is employed by WAVE Aquatics as a lifeguard and was on-duty at the time.

City of Redmond staff, Redmond Police Department and WAVE Aquatics met this morning shortly after the incident. Mr. Tyson Wellock, WAVE Aquatics Manager, has already taken immediate action to suspend the suspect from employment, pending the investigation outcome. The suspect has also been trespassed from the facility by the City of Redmond and Redmond Police.  WAVE Aquatics and City of Redmond staffs have conducted a thorough sweep of the entire facility and no other devices were found.

WAVE Aquatics has verified the only user group in the facility this morning was the Woodinville High School Girls' Swim Team. Concerned for the impact this type of incident may have on youth in our area, the City of Redmond and Redmond Police have been in discussion with both the Northshore School and Lake Washington School Districts, and will continue to work closely with them throughout the investigation.
