City of Redmond Seeking Applicants for Planning Commission Vacancy

Redmond, WA – Redmond residents with an interest in the future growth and character of the city are invited to apply for an upcoming vacancy on the Redmond Planning Commission. Planning Commissioners are appointed by the Mayor, confirmed by the City Council, and may serve up to two four-year terms. All board and commission members are volunteers. 

The Commission’s role is to make recommendations to the City Council regarding proposed amendments to Redmond’s Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Code. This coming year, the Commission will work on updates to development regulations and policy issues related to land use. Planning Commission meetings are held at 7 pm on Wednesday, typically two to three times a month, and are cablecast live on Redmond City Television. 

To apply, print out and complete the community service application at http://www.redmond.gov/Commissions and either mail to the Office of the Mayor, City of Redmond, PO Box 97010, Redmond, WA 98073-9710 or fax to 425-556-2110.  A copy of the community service application is also available in the Mayor’s Office on the fourth floor of City Hall.  If available, include a resume or summary of related experience.
