The Puget Sound Salmon Recovery Council will meet on Thursday, July 25, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Meeting highlights include:
- A presentation and discussion about the final draft of the Salmon Recovery Plan Addendum. The Addendum will guide the Puget Sound regional salmon recovery organization's actions over the next decade. Staff will share an overview of the final draft, discuss key changes, and review next steps. Presentation by Melissa Speeg, salmon recovery manager at the Puget Sound Partnership, and Ashley Bagley, salmon policy advisor at the Puget Sound Partnership.
- A presentation and discussion about the 10-year Watershed Chapter Update Strategy. The Partnership and Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission are drafting a strategic approach to updates for salmon recovery Watershed Chapters that will occur over the next 10 years. Staff will provide an overview of this draft strategic approach and seek feedback on the proposed process. Presentation by Ashley Bagley, salmon policy advisor at the Puget Sound Partnership, and Katie Shelledy, salmon habitat recovery coordinator at the Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission.
- A presentation and discussion about the Accelerating Progress Committee. The committee will share five actions selected from their work plan for discussion and consideration. Presentation by committee co-chairs, Kit Crump, co-vice chair of the Salmon Recovery Council and floodplain services supervisor, Snohomish County Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and Cindy Wolf, Salmon Recovery Council member and San Juan County Council member.
- A presentation and discussion on regional monitoring. Monitoring is critical to adaptively manage salmon recovery, yet it is chronically underfunded and under-resourced, and lacks regional coordination. The Partnership will provide an overview of their draft vision for regional monitoring and request input from the Salmon Recovery Council. Presentation by Melissa Speeg, salmon recovery manager at the Puget Sound Partnership, and Dawn Spilsbury, salmonids work group coordinator with the Puget Sound Ecosystem Monitoring Program.
- A presentation and decision about the 2025-27 Puget Sound Acquisition and Restoration (PSAR) program grant round. The PSAR program provides fundamental support to salmon recovery in Puget Sound by implementing regionally significant habitat protection and restoration priorities. Staff will present the 2025-27 PSAR Large Capital Projects ranked list and request a decision to recommend approval. Staff will also request support and assistance to fully fund the PSAR program and Large Capital ranked list. Presentation by Marlies Wierenga, PSAR program manager at the Puget Sound Partnership, Don Gourlie, legislative policy director at the Puget Sound Partnership, and Jennifer Grimm, strategic funding manager at the Puget Sound Partnership.
- A presentation and discussion about 2025 legislative session plans and priorities. Staff will share an early list of topics and ideas for attention during the 2025 legislative session and will seek Salmon Recovery Council input to add and refine the list. Presentation by Don Gourlie, legislative policy director at the Puget Sound Partnership, and Mindy Roberts, co-vice chair of the Salmon Recovery Council and Puget Sound program director at Washington Conservation Action.
