The Puget Sound Salmon Recovery Council will meet online on Thursday, Nov. 17, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Meeting highlights include:
- A presentation and discussion about the definition of a salmon recovery emergency, in addition to the process and parties involved in declaring such an emergency. Presentation by Tristan Contesse, boards program manager at the Puget Sound Partnership.
- A presentation and discussion about Puget Sound Acquisition and Restoration (PSAR) topics. This session will include discussion of a 10-year plan for PSAR; discussion of a PSAR cost analysis report; and options for updating the PSAR return funds policy. Presentation by Alison Agness, PSAR program manager at the Puget Sound Partnership.
- A presentation and discussion about the 2023 Washington state legislative session. This session will include an update from Partnership staff about the build-up to the 2023 legislative session and a discussion of 2023 legislative priorities. Presentation by Don Gourlie, legislative policy director at the Puget Sound Partnership.
- A presentation and discussion about net ecological gain. This session will include a discussion of net ecological gain and a proposal from the Salmon Recovery Council's executive committee. Presentation by members of the Salmon Recovery Council's executive committee.
- A presentation and discussion about the Salmon Recovery Council's work plan. This session will include a review of the progress the council has made on its 2022 work plan priorities and discussion of topics that should be prioritized in 2023. Presentation by Tristan Contesse, boards program manager at the Puget Sound Partnership.
- A presentation and discussion about the Legacy Projects Portfolio. The intent of the Legacy Projects Portfolio is to develop a list of large-scale salmon habitat protection and restoration projects where the scale of funding needs exceeds funding typically available from state grants. This session will include feedback from the Salmon Recovery Council on the updated Legacy Projects Portfolio and recommendations for future work supporting the list of projects and associated funding strategies.
