The Puget Sound Salmon Recovery Council will meet on Thursday, May 26, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the May 26 Salmon Recovery Council meeting will be a virtual Zoom meeting for all participants and the public.

Meeting highlights include:
- A presentation and discussion about PSAR cost increases. This session will include an update about the level of cost increase requests for use of PSAR Return Funds and a discussion about creating a working group and seeking volunteers. The cost increase working group will consider possible changes to PSAR policies. Presentation by Alison Agness, PSAR program manager at the Puget Sound Partnership.
- A presentation and discussion about private sector funding and financing for riparian conservation. This session will include a review of high-level results from an analysis of ways to expedite riparian habitat restoration through private-sector funding, financing, and project delivery. Presentation by Ahren Stroming, executive policy advisor at the Puget Sound Partnership.
- A presentation and decision regarding a letter from the Salmon Recovery Council recommending to the Leadership Council the adoption of the 2022-2026 Action Agenda. This session will include discussion of the letter and a decision about whether to approve or revise the letter. Presentation by Dan Stonington, planning manager at the Puget Sound Partnership, and Salmon Recovery Council executive committee members.
- A presentation about reducing nutrients in Puget Sound. This session will include a presentation about excessive levels of nutrients, such as nitrogen and organic carbon, in Puget Sound, which can lead to lower dissolved oxygen with negative impacts to water quality and the health of aquatic life. Through the Puget Sound Nutrient Source Reduction Project, the Washington State Department of Ecology (Ecology) collaborates with multiple Puget Sound partners to find solutions for reducing human sources of nutrients to protect Puget Sound. Annette Hoffmann, environmental assessment program manager at Ecology, will present an overview of the science informing Ecology’s Puget Sound Nutrient Source Reduction Project.
