The Puget Sound Partnership Science Panel will meet on Thursday, April 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the April 21 Science Panel meeting will be a virtual Zoom meeting for all participants and the public.

Meeting highlights include:
- A presentation and discussion about the Science Panel’s endorsement of the process to develop the 2022-2026 Action Agenda. This session will include a discussion of a draft letter to the Leadership Council from the Science Panel, describing their review of how science has informed the draft 2022-2026 Action Agenda. Presentation by Ruth Sofield, co-Vice Chair of Science Panel and Scott Redman, Science Director at the Puget Sound Partnership.
- A presentation for discussion about the Puget Sound Future Scenarios project. This session will include an update on the status of the Future Scenarios project and its purpose and objectives; a discussion of land use policies and rules that create divergence between alternative future scenarios; and updates to the qualitative network model. Presentation by Katherine Wyatt, assistant science director at the Puget Sound Partnership.
- A presentation and discussion on new research about Southern Resident Killer Whales and salmon availability. This session will include an overview of research on the effects of a changing environment and inbreeding on southern resident killer whales. Presentation by Eric Ward and Martin Kardos from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
- A presentation and discussion on the outcomes of the 2022 legislative session on Puget Sound science and recovery. This session will include a recap of the policy and budget priorities of the Management Conference. Presentation by Don Gourlie, Legislative Policy Director at the Puget Sound Partnership.
