A presentation and discussion about the Puget Sound Salmon Recovery Plan regional chapter update. Since the Plan’s adoption in 2007, new information related to pressures affecting salmon recovery have been identified. In addition, new infrastructure has been created (e.g., the Puget Sound Partnership) that was not included within the original plan. In order to make the regional chapter of the Recovery Plan relevant, streamlined, and focused, the Partnership aims to draft a supplemental-style update to the original salmon recovery regional chapter. Presentation by Amber Moore, salmon recovery manager at the Puget Sound Partnership.
A presentation for decision about the application of the existing allocation formula for the 2021 Salmon Recovery Funding Board (SRFB) grant round. Salmon recovery requires significant funding. Prior to the allocation formula for distribution of state and federal funds in the Puget Sound, money was distributed to each lead entity through a competitive grant round. A Puget Sound allocation formula was established in 2006 to apply funds in a strategic manner. Presentation by Carrie Byron, Puget Sound Acquisition and Restoration program manager at the Puget Sound Partnership.
A presentation for discussion about the status of Salmon Recovery Council legislative priorities. This session will also include a discussion of implications about the new revenue forecast for Washington state. Presentation by Jeff Parsons, legislative policy director at the Puget Sound Partnership.
A presentation for discussion about the HEAL Act and the Washington State Environmental Justice Task Force recommendations. This session will also include discussion in break out groups. Presentation by Elise Rasmussen, Washington State Environmental Justice Task Force project manager, and Charmi Ajmera, co-lead for equitable governance and policy analyst at Front and Centered.
