Salmon Recovery Council to discuss regional salmon recovery priorities

The Puget Sound Salmon Recovery Council will meet on Thursday, July
26, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Port Gamble S’Klallam Longhouse, 31964
Little Boston Road NE, Kingston, WA.
Meeting highlights include:
An update on the
implementation status of the Hood Canal Summer Chum Recovery Plan. Hood Canal
summer chum salmon were listed as threatened under the Endangered Species Act
in 2005.
A discussion of
the Council’s regional Chinook salmon recovery priorities, including the extent
to which they support Southern Resident orca recovery and recreational, commercial, and tribal
fishing opportunities.
