Leadership Council to hear findings on Cypress Island net pen failure
The Puget Sound Partnership’s Leadership Council will meet on
Wednesday, March 28, 2018, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Washington State
University Stormwater Center, 2606 West Pioneer, Puyallup. Council
members will re-convene to tour a habitat restoration site in the Puyallup River
watershed from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 29.
Wednesday meeting highlights include:
A presentation on the Puget Sound Action Agenda
Comprehensive Plan, which charts the course for Puget Sound recovery over the
long-term.
A presentation on findings of the state’s
investigation of the Cypress Island Atlantic salmon net pen incident.
A presentation and discussion on the Salish Sea
Marine Survival project, which is investigating a number of potential causes of
low survival of juvenile salmon as they leave freshwater and transit Puget
Sound.
