Salmon Recovery Council to hear update on Chinook salmon recovery plan for Puget Sound
Puget Sound Partnership’s Salmon Recovery Council will meet September 28, in Edmonds
The Puget Sound Partnership’s Salmon Recovery Council will
meet Thursday, September 28, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Edmonds Center
for the Arts, 410 4th Ave N, Edmonds, 98020.
Meeting highlights include:
The latest on efforts to create a Chinook salmon
Implementation Strategy. Implementation Strategies are the plans for achieving
the ecosystem 2020 recovery targets for the Vital Signs. The Vital Signs help
to gauge the health of Puget Sound
and direct work toward the highest priority actions. The Salmon Recovery
Council is considering a proposed suite of bold, strategic actions that will
add focus to the Chinook salmon Implementation Strategy.
A discussion on potential improvements to the
Puget Sound Acquisition and Restoration (PSAR) program, which funds high-priority salmon restoration and protection projects in Puget Sound.
