Puget Sound Partnership Salmon Recovery Council to
discuss funding for Puget Sound recovery projects
Council will meet December 1, in Edmonds
The Puget Sound Partnership’s Salmon Recovery Council will
meet Thursday, December 1, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Edmonds Center for the
Arts, 410 4th Ave North, Edmonds.
Meeting highlights include:
A discussion on the Puget Sound Acquisition and
Restoration (PSAR) funding request in the 2017-19 biennium. PSAR-funded
projects restore critical habitat and salmon populations to Puget Sound.
A presentation on the Shore Friendly program,
which offers guidance to waterfront homeowners who want to protect their
property while promoting healthy shorelines.
A presentation and discussion on funding recommendations
for the Puget Sound Action Agenda’s Stormwater, Shellfish, and Habitat
Strategic Initiatives. These funding recommendations are for priority Near Term
Actions from the 2016 Action Agenda. Funding these actions will help us make
progress toward reducing polluted stormwater runoff, maintaining and restoring
water quality around important shellfish beds, and protecting and restoring
habitat.
