The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) is hosting a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Foods show for School Meal programs sponsors. This year's food show will begin with education sessions focused on planning, entitlement spending, diversions, student taste tests, and culinary uses for USDA Foods. There will be an opportunity to network with peers to swap tips and tricks for using USDA Foods, and the day will end with a tasting event to sample USDA Foods available to order.

December orders open Wednesday, November 5, and close Wednesday, November 12, at 4 pm.
Surplus orders open Thursday, November 13, at 1 pm for groups 1 and 2; 1:30 pm for group 3; and 2 pm for group 4.
Surplus closes Friday, November 14 at 4 pm

When the order is delivered, you have two business days to receive that delivery. After three days, the receipt of delivery is past due, and you can no longer place orders for that site.

Please use the 2025–26 Diversion Adjustment Request form to submit adjustment requests during the year. Requests are processed after the 10th of each month. Review the CNPweb message board for processors with available pounds.

For November, we’re spotlighting USDA Foods item 100012 ‐ Cheddar Cheese.
Product Description
This item is U.S. Grade A or higher yellow cheddar cheese with a reduced fat profile. This product is shredded and is shipped refrigerated in cases containing six 5‐pound bags.

Culinary Tips and Recipes
- Cheddar cheese can be used as an ingredient in a variety of recipes such as casseroles, soups, or quesadillas.
- Offer shredded cheese as a topping for build‐your‐own options such as salad, baked potato, or burrito bars.
- Use reduced fat cheese in place of regular cheese to lower calories, fat, and saturated fat in menus.
